ROLE of the POSITION

The Department of Brain Health in the School of Integrated Health Sciences at University of Nevada Las Vegas is accepting applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor (tenure-track). The successful applicant will have already established or show potential to establish a leading edge extramurally funded research program in neuroscience. The ideal candidate will have a research program in neurodegenerative disorder research that intersects with existing strengths in the Department of Brain Health including but not limited to biomarker discovery (genomics or proteomics), disease mechanisms, and/or the study of clinical trial design, conduct, and outcomes. Research programs with a focus on aging, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and/or Parkinson’s disease would be especially welcome. The position includes the opportunity to train and mentor graduate students in the University’s Neuroscience Ph.D. program. Research productivity of the candidate is deemed to be of critical importance and will necessitate securing extramural grant support and evidence of publication of research in high impact peer reviewed journals.  Anticipated start date will be July, 2022. Postdoctoral experience is required.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Ph.D. in Neuroscience or closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university. Postdoctoral experience is preferred. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.

SALARY RANGE

Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
