The UCLA Cardiac Arrhythmia Center and UCLA Neurocardiology Research Center of Excellence invite applications for an NIH T32-funded postdoctoral position in the area of neural control of the heart. We seek a motivated individual with expertise in neuroscience and/or cardiovascular sciences to join our collaborative efforts in studying neural control of cardiovascular function. Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree. Experience in cardiovascular molecular or cellular physiology, or neuroanatomy/neurophysiology is preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience using viral-based genetic manipulations (e.g. AAV) and transgenic rodent models to study cardiovascular science or neuroscience. The successful applicant will be an integral member of a dynamic team of physicians and scientists utilizing multidisciplinary approaches to better understand foundational mechanisms of cardiac neural control in health and disease. The Center is located in newly renovated lab space in the UCLA Center for Health Sciences. UCLA provides a dynamic, collaborative, and integrative research and training environment with state-of-the-art facilities in Westwood, Los Angeles.
Please send curriculum vitae, brief statement of interests and accomplishments, and a list of three references in one .pdf or .doc file by e-mail to Dr. Olujimi Ajijola at oajijola@mednet.ucla.edu. Successful applicants will receive competitive pay and benefits commensurate with the applicant's level of experience based on NIH salary levels.
