The Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) in Milwaukee, WI is neuroscientists to join our faculty at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the tenure track. Under the leadership of a new chair, the department is seeking to expand its neuroscience research team in partnership with the Neuroscience Research Center (NRC) at MCW. While candidates with research interests in any area of neuroscience will be considered, those with research programs that complement departmental strengths related to neuropsychiatric disease, addiction, endocannabinoids, and receptor signaling are especially encouraged to apply. This includes candidates with expertise in mechanisms of neuroinflammation; immune cell-neuron interactions; mechanisms of cytokine action in the CNS; or crosstalk between peripheral inflammation and CNS function. Faculty members will be expected to establish and maintain extramurally funded research programs and to work collaboratively with researchers in Pharmacology & Toxicology and the NRC. Requirements include completion of a PhD or equivalent and at least 2 years of post-doctoral experience in a relevant area. Candidates at the Associate Professor rank will be expected to have current federal funding for their research.

It is expected that the candidate will be a faculty member in the MCW Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, which trains PhD and MS students, and will participate in teaching in the medical and graduate curricula as needed. The candidate will have a primary appointment in the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology and membership in the Neuroscience Research Center. Where appropriate secondary appointments in clinical departments and other centers will be considered. PhD or equivalent required with 2 years of post-doctoral experience in Neuroscience.

INTERESTED APPLICANTS should apply with a cover letter describing qualifications and curriculum vitae to the MCW Careers Website at www.mcw.edu/HR. Please search for Requisition ID 28588 under Faculty Openings. The posting will remain open until filled.

MCW is committed to increasing the diversity of its faculty and strongly encourages applications from individuals in groups that are underrepresented in the biomedical sciences.
