Job Details

The Jaeger lab at Emory University https://scholarblogs.emory.edu/jaegerlab/ is looking to recruit two postdoctoral fellows to work on our NIH funded projects in studying the cell-type specific function of motor and premotor cortex in mice.  The technical approaches will include optogenetics,  brain slice studies and/or wide-field voltage imaging in task-trained mice. A specific objective is to compare normal and Parkinsonian cortical function.  The successful candidates will have prior expertise in rodent electrophysiology and a strong background in data analysis with some coding experience in Matlab or Python.  Emory University provides a vibrant and supportive environment for postdoctoral training including grant writing workshops and teaching opportunities, as well as strong training in movement disorders.  The Atlanta location allows for affordable living conditions in a cosmopolitan setting with a world class airport. Compensation is dependent on prior experience and is aligned with the NIH NRSA schedule https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-21-049.html, with additional health insurance and other benefits.
