A Postdoctoral Research Fellow position in Trophic Factors and Cognition is available in the laboratory of Dr. Samuel Sathyanesan (publication name – Newton SS) at the University of South Dakota. The project will investigate trophic factor-induced cognitive function in rodent models. This is a full-time position that has received up to 5 years of NIH funding. A Ph.D. in a Neuroscience related field is required. The successful candidate will employ behavioral assays, transgenic mice, and in vivo gene manipulation techniques to investigate the cognitive actions of trophic factors. Experience with mouse stereotaxic surgery is highly desirable. The candidate is expected to develop research protocols, conduct behavioral experiments, analyze data, and write peer-reviewed manuscripts.
