The interdisciplinary Neuroscience Program at Loyola University New Orleans seeks a broadly trained neuroscientist for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship beginning in August 2022. The position is to be housed either in the Biology or Psychology department, depending on the hire’s area of expertise. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in neuroscience or closely related field. Particularly desirable are individuals with a background in neurophysiology, cellular and molecular neuroscience, or neuropsychology. The tenure-track position has a 3-3 course load, and candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to rigorous, innovative, and inclusive teaching at the undergraduate level. Courses to be taught may include an introductory neuroscience course, research methods, as well as other introductory and higher-level courses depending on the appointee’s expertise and needs of their home department. In addition to teaching responsibilities, colleagues are expected to advise undergraduate students, participate in department, college, and university committees, and maintain an active research program that engages undergraduate students.
