Overview of Position:

We are looking for a highly motivated Researcher in EEG.  The successful candidate will work in a team of scientists and researchers supporting preclinical studies using rodent models. The candidate must be capable of working both across teams and independently.

Main Responsibilities:

The primary tasks performed on a daily basis in mice will include:

  • test article dosing using various routes of administration (IP, SC, IV, PO)
  • tissue collection (anatomical dissection of brain region, along with peripheral organs and muscles)
  • data handling (graphing and analyzing data)
  • study coordination
  • Perform routine animal handling, care and husbandry as required to facilitate EEG experiments
  • Perform routine animal handling including taking body weights, measuring tumor growth and dosing the mice that reach the criteria for treatment
  • Perform tissue collections on the tumors after the study is over and take measurements
  • Compile and analyze EEG data, including sleep-scoring, seizure detection and spectral analysis
  • Develop clear visualizations to convey complicated data in a straightforward fashion
  • Record and manage all procedures, data and notes in a laboratory notebook
  • Assist team members with any projects that require assistance including surgeries, dosing and data analysis

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in the biological sciences, neuroscience, or related field
  • 1-3 years of laboratory and behavioral experience with mice
  • Mouse handling skills and dosing experience (IP, SC, PO, etc.)
  • Knowledge of rodent behavioral models
  • Strong experience in Excel and data handling
  • Able to work well in a group atmosphere, as well as independently
  • Strong organization, multitasking and troubleshooting skills
  • High level of commitment, excellent motivation to perform and to learn
  • Able to comprehend and comply with all SOP and IACUC, and to follow safety and quality assurance protocols, as well as question and/or report any deviations to study protocols
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment and to pick up new skills quickly

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with stereotaxic surgery in mice
  • Experience with EEG testing
  • Experience with statistics
  • Experience with basic pharmacology and drug preparations
