Overview of Position:  The Sr Research Associate is primarily responsible for supporting and conducting rodent Pharmacokinetic studies. Tasks will include preparation, dosing, serial blood collection and/or surgeries in support of these studies, and sample maintenance. The Sr Research Associate will also be responsible for supporting various other cross functional groups with testing and reports. 

 

 

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform rodent surgeries, including jugular vein cannulations
  • Work with rodents (mice, rats) and be able to handle, and administer drugs via various routes: PO, IV, IP, SC, ICV
  • Perform serial blood collection via different routes including tail, saphenous and jugular vein bleeds and perform terminal tissue collection (CSF, plasma, brain, etc.)
  • Maintain detailed documentation of procedures and results
  • Perform calculations for making up drug solutions
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support project-specific needs
  • Proper execution of experiments, preliminary experimental data analysis and drafting of study reports
  • Assist in quality control procedures including investigating corrective and preventative actions
  • Perform operational tasks such as sample/compound receipt, shipping, regulatory documentation, and trainings

 

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences
  • 3+ years of laboratory experience with rats and/or mice
  • Rodent Dosing experience (PO, IV, IP, SC, ICV etc.)
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Focused and well-organized with attention to detail
  • Ability to work as a team member and possess a positive attitude
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  •  Ability to function in a fast-paced, high growth work environment
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, work under supervision and exercise good judgement
