The Department of Psychology at Florida State University invites applications for a tenure track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in Developmental Neuroscience, with a start date of August, 2022. The Psychology Department is very active in research, with Ph.D. programs in clinical, cognitive, developmental, neuroscience, and social. The successful candidate will be affiliated with the developmental and neuroscience areas, with other affiliations as appropriate. Candidates with doctoral degrees, and lines of research, from any area of human developmental neuroscience (broadly construed) will be considered. Special consideration will be given to those whose work connects to the developmental area’s research strengths (i.e., cognitive development, applied development, developmental methodology, and/or individual differences; see https://psy.fsu.edu/php/graduate/programs/developmental/developmental.php?_tr=1) and those who use fMRI and/or EEG methods. In addition, the successful candidate will be able to teach undergraduate research methods in our neuroscience major. Candidates must have a strong publication record, high potential for external grant funding, and a commitment to excellent teaching with a diverse student population. The Department of Psychology is committed to enhancing the diversity of its faculty, staff, and students. Individuals from groups traditionally underrepresented in Psychology are strongly encouraged to apply.

Our department has a vibrant faculty, outstanding resources, a favorable teaching load, and a collegial atmosphere. FSU has a growing neuroimaging group, thanks to a state-of-the-art research-dedicated MRI center featuring a 3T Siemens Prisma scanner, an MR-compatible high-density EEG system, MR-compatible TMS and tES systems, and peripheral equipment. Florida State ranks in the top 20 of National Public Universities (U. S. News & World Report).

Candidates should provide a cover letter, CV, copies of three representative preprints/reprints, brief statements of research, teaching, and contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the names and contact information of at least three individuals from whom letters of recommendation could be solicited. To apply go to: http://jobs.fsu.edu (Job ID 50323). The application deadline is November 30th. Inquiries about the position may be directed to Sara Hart, search chair (sahart@fsu.edu). For more information about our department see www.psy.fsu.edu.
