One post-doctoral position in “In Vivo Electrophysiology in mice” is available in the Department of Neurobiology at the Poznan University of Physical Education (Poland).
We are looking for motivated candidates with interest in the fields of neurophysiology, neurobiology, or neurodegeneration. The project aims at investigating the mechanisms responsible for the synaptic dysfunction and excitability impairment in spinal motor neurons of mice displaying Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. The project will benefit from the use of new classes of adeno-associated viruses combined with cutting-edge in vivo electrophysiology methods that we developed in mice. The candidate will be responsible for electrophysiological investigations (intracellular recordings of spinal motoneurons in anaesthetized mice). S/he will perform experiments, data collection, analysis, interpretation, and manuscript drafting. It should be noted that s/he will be trained for an approximate time period of 6 months in order to be fully operational with in vivo experiments that we master. We expect that the candidate has acquired a strong experience in electrophysiology during his/her PhD or a previous post-doc.
The candidate will work in a very international environment. Despite that the experiments will be done in Poznan, the candidate will also interact with researchers located in Paris (France) and Ulm (Germany), and s/he will have to visit them on a regular basis. In this context, the working language is English and fluency in this language is required.
The position is funded for 3 years with an attractive gross annual salary of 120,000 PLN.
Interested candidates are welcome to ask for more details and to send their CV, a motivation letter and three reference letters to baczykump@gmail.com.
