The Manfredsson laboratory at Barrow Neurological Institute is currently hiring several highly motivated postdoctoral fellows within the areas of gene therapy and neurodegeneration.

The group is focused on developing novel gene therapy modalities to study and treat neurodegeneration and associated symptomology, with a primary focus on Parkinson’s disease.

Our group practices team science utilizing a multitude of interdisciplinary approaches in our research ranging from electrophysiology to viral vector design and production. Our research outcomes range from molecular biology, omics, and histology. Although we are interested in all research backgrounds priority will be given to fellows with experience in either in vivo fiber photometry or similar approaches, advanced viral vector engineering and in vivo assessment, processing of human post-mortem brain specimens, and next-gen sequencing and analysis. Experience with computer programming will be considered a plus. Fellows in the laboratory are expected to take the lead on a multitude of projects, contribute to grant writing, and supervise junior trainees.
