Job Details
The Center for Neuroscience Research in the Children's National Research Institute (CRI) at Children's National Hospital has an open position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor, tenure track. This position is for a PhD and/or MD neuroscientist with interests in the general areas of: neural stem cells, brain injury/regeneration, epilepsy, neurodevelopmental disorders, and cellular and molecular determinants of brain circuitry. We seek candidates using modern neuroscience methods including but not limited to: computational neuroscience, in vivo imaging and recording, and/or transcriptomics. The recruit will join a collegial and highly collaborative multidisciplinary team studying development and function of the central nervous system, with strengths in mouse genetics, neuroembryology, molecular and cellular manipulation of the developing brain, electrophysiology, high resolution cellular and tissue imaging and animal behavior. The Center for Neuroscience Research occupies a total of 12,000 square feet of lab space supported by NIH-IDDRC funded core facilities that include Genomics and Bioinformatics, Cell and Tissue Microscopy, Animal Behavior and Animal Imaging. We especially seek candidates that will take advantage of the many opportunities for translational projects with our strong clinical research teams. This position offers a competitive start-up package and includes a tenure track faculty appointment at the George Washington University School of Medicine. Track record of grant support is preferred, but not required.
