The Reyes lab is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to study memory formation in live neural networks. The goal of this CRCNS-NIH funded project is to examine how synaptic strengths between neurons develop over multiple time scales, ranging from seconds to weeks. The successful candidate will perform experiments in cultured neurons using state-of-the-art optical stimulation and recording techniques.
The candidate should have a Ph.D. and have a strong neuroscience background. Prior research experience using optical and/or electrophysiological recordings in cultures, slice preparation, or in vivo is preferred but computational neuroscientists who are motivated to do experiments will also be considered. Interested applicants should send their updated CV, a cover letter with research goals, and contact information for references to Alex Reyes at ar65@nyu.edu.
