Pennington Biomedical Research Center is a world-renowned academic research institute that is exceptionally well equipped for studying the fundamental mechanisms driving changes in metabolic health. The Center includes three Scientific Divisions: Basic Science, Clinical Research, and Population and Public Health, enabling both focused research and translational science. The research enterprise at Pennington Biomedical includes over 450 employees within a network of 40 clinics and research laboratories and 13 highly specialized core service facilities. The Basic Science Division is supported by multiple NIH-funded Scientific Cores, including the Genomics Core, Cell Biology and Bioimaging Core, Transgenics Core, Animal Metabolism and Behavior Core, and Comparative Biology Core.  These cores collectively provide an exceptional infrastructure for Pennington Biomedical scientists and collaborators.  Research at Pennington is supported broadly by multiple NIH Research Centers, including NORC, COBRE, LACaTS centers.  Finally, Pennington Biomedical offers exceptional training opportunities for both junior faculty and postdoctoral fellows, including a specific Division of Education and two NIH T32 postdoctoral training awards.
