Post-doctoral Position

McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School

Belmont, MA

A post-doctoral position is available within the Treatment & Etiology of Depression in Youth Lab (https://WebbsLab.com) at Harvard Medical School and McLean Hospital, directed by Christian A. Webb, Ph.D.

Our lab uses a multimodal approach (EEG, fMRI, experience sampling, passive smartphone sensor data, and laboratory-based experiments) to investigate the etiology and pathophysiology of depression in adolescents, as well as the mechanisms of change in psychotherapeutic and pharmacological treatments for depression. More recently, the lab has focused on machine learning approaches for personalized prediction of treatment response.

The post-doctoral fellow will have the opportunity to work closely with Dr. Webb on NIH/NIMH- and foundation-funded projects focused on predicting the onset of depression in adolescents, as well as a new study focused on predictors and mechanisms of change in app-delivered mindfulness training for adolescents with elevated rumination.

The position will provide opportunities to pursue independent research and interdisciplinary collaborations across Harvard Medical School and the local Boston community. Successful applicants will have access to three research-dedicated human MRI scanners, one animal MRI scanner, and two high-density EEG systems, and will be able to take advantage of the outstanding educational, clinical, and research-related opportunities available at McLean and Harvard Medical School

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in functional/structural MRI techniques and expertise in computer programming (i.e., MATLAB, Python, R).

To apply, applicants should submit a cover letter (detailing your research experience and fit for the position/lab), CV, and 3 reference letters (sent directly by the referee). Application materials can be sent directly to Dr. Webb (cwebb@mclean.harvard.edu). Review of applications will begin immediately (expected start date: Winter or Spring 2022, but this is negotiable).
