Job Details

The Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure research track. Expertise is required in the specific area of biomarkers for adverse physiological conditions (e.g., genetic, metabolic, vascular, microbiome) induced by sleep restriction, circadian misalignment or exposure to other relevant environmental stressors. The successful applicant will have a strong computational and statistical background, and some knowledge in the field of structural and functional MRI data analysis. Must have at least 3 years experience conducting research on biological markers in response to stressors. A track record of publications and relevant contributions to federally funded research in this area is expected. Applicants must have an M.D. and/or Ph.D degree.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include collaborative and independent research on the effects of stress related to sleep restriction and environmental exposures on biological markers of health. Ultimately, the goal is to determine early markers of health related to sleep restriction and exposure to environmental stressors, and to identify prevention strategies.

We seek candidates who embrace and reflect diversity in the broadest sense. The University of Pennsylvania is an EOE. Minorities/women/individuals with disabilities/protected veterans are encouraged to apply.
