The College of Engineering and the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences at the Pennsylvania State University (PSU) invite applications for a full-time position at the level of Assistant Research Professor (non-tenure line) as a part of a University-wide initiative to integrate engineering with mental health research. This position will play a key role in applying neural engineering technology (e.g. fMRI) to translational research in mental health at PSU.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Physics or a related discipline. We are particularly interested in candidates who have expertise in small animal fMRI, neuroimaging data analysis and/or animal models of mental disorders. The successful applicant needs to have excellent interpersonal communication skills and must be able to work with multiple labs across colleges on a wide array of research areas in mental health.

The position will be in the Biomedical Engineering (BME) Department and affiliated with the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences (http://www.huck.psu.edu). The Penn State BME Department and Huck Institutes provide a rich environment in which faculty, postdocs and graduate/undergraduate students regularly interact and conduct collaborative studies. Affiliated faculty, staff and students have access to the Institutes' state-of-the-art core facilities.

Interested candidates should apply online and submit a single PDF file including: (1) a cover letter, (2) curriculum vitae, and (3) names and addresses of three references. Review of applications will start immediately, and will continue until the position is filled.

This is a limited-term appointment funded for one year from the date of hire with an excellent possibility of re-funding.
