Research Fellow

The laboratory of Dr. Yu Wang in the Department of Neurology at the University of Michigan is seeking postdoctoral fellows to study the molecular and neural basis underlying several neurodevelopmental disorders. We employ a combination of state-of-the-art approaches, including CRISPR genome editing, spatial transcriptomics, interneuron transplant, advanced long-term EEG monitoring, local field potential recording, in utero electroporation, and stem cells to identify the pathogenesis underlying pediatric epilepsy, autism, and high-grade pediatric glioma. We are looking for highly motivated and ambitious young scientists. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in neuroscience, neurobiology, neurophysiology, biological sciences, or a related field. Applicants with expertise in areas including but not limited to mouse genetics, neurophysiology, RNAseq, are welcome to apply.

The University of Michigan has an outstanding and extremely collaborative biomedical research environment. Dr. Yu Wang is a member of the Neuroscience Graduate Program which encompasses a remarkably broad and deep research faculty in the Medical School and Undergraduate Campus of the University. The PIs interact closely with an extremely strong group of scientists studying neural development, stem cells and regenerative medicine, brain injury/neurodegeneration, and epilepsy and basic neurophysiology. In addition to the Neuroscience Graduate Program, Dr. Wang is part of the Center for Organogenesis, which encompasses a wide range of scientists across the university who are interested in developmental and regenerative biology. The Department of Neurology has an NIH T32 postdoctoral fellow training grant, and the Center for Organogenesis funds several postdoctoral fellows per year through competitive applications.
