Job Details

The Department of Neuroscience at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, under the leadership of Dr. Joseph Takahashi, invites applications at the Assistant Professor level for tenure-track Faculty positions with an emphasis on mechanistic understanding of nervous system function. We seek outstanding scientists addressing molecular and genetic mechanisms underlying brain function, as well as individuals using high-resolution imaging, behavior, and neural circuit methodology. Diversity and inclusion are priorities in the Department of Neuroscience at all levels including faculty, staff, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers. The Department currently has 40% female tenure-track faculty. Scientists within the Department of Neuroscience participate in a vibrant, interdisciplinary, interdepartmental, and highly collaborative research community within the University, and enjoy access to Core Facilities: Research - UT Southwestern, Dallas, TX  including imaging, metabolic phenotyping, behavioral phenotyping, protein chemistry, structural biology, cryo-electron microscopy, genomics, genetics and transgenic technology. The Department of Neuroscience is a core component of the newly formed Peter O’Donnell Jr. Brain Institute at UT Southwestern.
