Applications are invited for one faculty position at open rank (assistant, associate, or full professor) starting September 2022. This recruitment is focused on individuals conducting research into systems neuroscience and/or neural circuits using non-human primate, rodent, or other experimental models. Collegial interactions and collaborative research are widespread within the Department of Neuroscience (http://www.neuroscience.pitt.edu/), and across the extensive, outstanding, and growing, neuroscience community found in Pittsburgh. Our integrative research environment is exemplified by the Center for Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh (CNUP; https://www.cnup.pitt.edu/about), the University of Pittsburgh Brain Institute (https://www.braininstitute.pitt.edu/about/welcome) and the Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition (CNBC; https://www.cnbc.cmu.edu/), which bridges the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University. Successful candidates will be expected to establish an independent research program, participate in teaching neuroscience to undergraduate and graduate students, and contribute to the integrative resources serving the local neuroscience community.


Required qualifications for all ranks are a doctoral degree and postdoctoral training in neuroscience or a related field, a record of research excellence appropriate for rank, and a fit with ongoing research programs or interests within the Department of Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh. Desired qualifications for full or associate professor ranks include a record of service, teaching experience, and a record of training graduate and/or postdoctoral scholars.
