A postdoctoral scientist position is currently available in the Lavin Laboratory at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston SC. Highly motivated candidates with an interest in neocortical circuit function in are encouraged to apply. Expertise in patch clamp electrophysiology is absolutely required.
The candidate will join a dynamic and vibrant international group of researchers with frequent interactions and discussions.
Our brain slice physiology project plans to study, in vitro, neurophysiological mechanisms that may contribute to hypofrontality. In addition, our lab combine ex vivo electrophysiological recordings with behavioral assessments, chemogenetics, molecular biology tools and the lab is beginning to incorporate Ca2+ image in vivo combined with behavioral tasks.
