Computational Neuroscience

Position:              Open Rank, Tenure-track

Location:             Cornell University, Ithaca, New York 14853     

Position description:  The Cornell Initiative to bridge Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Neuroscience invites applications for two open rank, tenure track faculty positions in the Departments of Neurobiology and Behavior (https://nbb.cornell.edu/) and Computational Biology (https://compbio.cornell.edu/about/computational-biology/). Candidates may use experimental, computational, and/or machine learning methods to understand the neural basis of animal or human behavior. Individuals are expected to establish a vigorous, externally funded, internationally recognized research program and to excel in undergraduate and graduate teaching programs. These hires are part of a larger Initiative in AI research at Cornell and successful candidates should have a pioneering spirit and a track record of collaborative work and enthusiasm about bridging top-ranked systems neuroscience, neuroengineering, behavior, computational biology and AI communities established at Cornell (https://machinelearning.cis.cornell.edu/).

Qualifications:  A PhD in neuroscience, computational biology, computer science, behavior, physics, or a related field and a primary interest in understanding behavior and neural data through the development and use of computational, statistical and/or machine learning methods. Postdoctoral experience with a demonstrated record of productivity is required.
