We are seeking a highly motived scientist with a solid background in neurophysiology and electrophysiology to join our Pain Drug Discovery team. Are you a critical problem solver with a deep understanding of neurophysiology related to pain signaling pathways? You will be an integral part of multiple teams that are focused on developing novel medicines across broad neuropathy disorders. Therefore, the ability to interact collaboratively with research scientists with diverse expertise is important for this role.

  • Ability to design, perform, analyze, and critically interpret in vivo electrophysiological experiments and data in rodent models of pain and neuropathy
  • Strong hands-on technical expertise using in vivo electrophysiology methods evaluating spinal and supraspinal centers important for pain processing and signaling
  • Additional experience with in vivo recordings of peripheral nerves is a strong plus
  • Identify, develop, and implement innovative approaches to add functional capabilities and gain new insights into disease biology, compound target engagement and pharmacodynamics
  • Act as a subject matter expert in researching new targets for the treatment of chronic pain and neuropathy
  • Present data and conclusions to research teams and leadership in a clear and compelling manner
  • Full compliance with all Lilly regulations, including understanding and following all Animal Care and Use protocols

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Neurophysiology, or related scientific field with postdoctoral training or experience preferred
  • Alternatively, a MS in Neuroscience, Neurophysiology, or related scientific field with a minimum of 5 years industry experience

Additional Skills / Preferences:

  • Demonstrated expertise in research as evidenced by an excellent peer reviewed publication record
  • Experience in pain/neuropathy biology
  • Demonstrated in vivo necropsy experience
