The lab of Dr. Jason Christie at the University of Colorado School of Medicine (www.cerebellumlab.org) is currently searching for postdoctoral candidates interested in studying neural circuits that support learning. The select candidate will participate in a well-funded research program examining how behavior is flexibly shaped by cerebellar-dependent processing using a variety of advanced recording techniques. This includes in vivo two-photon microscopy, electrophysiology, and optogenetics in behaving mice (see recent work: Bonnan et al. 2021 Nat Comm; Gaffield et al. 2019 Neuron, and Rowan et al. 2018 Neuron). We also use acute brain slices and patch-clamp electrophysiology to decipher how cellular physiology and synaptic function provides a basis for the cerebellum’s role in behaviorally relevant computation underlying learning and memory.

The ideal candidate should have a PhD in Neuroscience or Biophysics. Previous experience with electrophysiology and/or light-microscopy is preferred. Also, candidates with technical backgrounds including electronics engineering, computer science, or physics are encouraged to apply. The goal is for candidates to not only participate in ground-breaking science, but to also build a research program that can launch their independent career.

Applicants should provide a statement of research interests with their CV and list of references by email to: jason.m.christie at cuanschutz.edu.
