Postdoctoral Research Associate
A postdoctoral or more senior research position is available in the lab of Dr. Tim Buschman in the Princeton Neuroscience Institute and Department of Psychology at Princeton University. The position is to develop neural network models of complex, cognitive behaviors. The research will complement experimental approaches in the lab, working to provide insight into the mechanisms of cognitive control, particularly in a complex environment in which an agent can learn and perform multiple behaviors.
The Buschman lab studies the neural dynamics of complex, cognitive, behaviors. Our research uses cutting-edge recording techniques in monkeys and mice to understand the neural representations that support cognitive control, attention, and working memory. We then build theoretical models to gain insight into the underlying mechanisms. More information about our research can be found on our lab website: http://www.timbuschman.com .
Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D.; those with a background in computational neuroscience, machine learning, and mathematics are particularly encouraged to apply. In addition, we are seeking candidates who have experience developing and analyzing recurrent neural network models of complex behaviors. An interest in collaborating closely with experimental neuroscientists is also highly-desired. The term of this appointment is for one year, with the possibility of renewal based upon satisfactory performance and funding. Applications from members of groups historically under-represented in Neurosciences are encouraged. .
Applicants should apply online at https://www.princeton.edu/acad-positions/position/21361 and include a CV, one or two representative publications, and a cover letter with a brief outline of your research interests. Please also include the names and contact information for at least 2 references.
