Job Details
We are seeking talented and motivated postdoctoral fellows to join the laboratory of Dr. Shinjae Chung at the Department of Neuroscience, University of Pennsylvania. The goal of our lab is to identify the molecular and neural circuit mechanisms underlying sleep. We investigate how sleep neurons are connected to circuits involved in emotional regulation and how they become dysfunctional in psychiatric disorders and neurodevelopmental disorders. We employ a multi-disciplinary approach including optogenetics, in vivo electrophysiology using optrodes and neuropixels, in vivo single-cell imaging, virus-mediated circuit mapping and gene profiling. For more information about our work, please visit https://chunglab.med.upenn.edu.
We are part of the Department of Neuroscience and the Chronobiology and Sleep Institute of the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. The position offers the opportunity to become an active member of this multi-disciplinary neuroscience research community and work in the highly collaborative and collegial environment at Penn.
