The Husson University School of Pharmacy is seeking a full-time (9 month) faculty member for a position in the department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The primary responsibility of this position is the scholarly teaching of neurology-related topics in pharmacology and pathophysiology courses. Additional expectations include conducting research, advising students and participating in the academic life of the School and University. All faculty ranks (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor) will be considered. This position is a direct report to the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs.

The School of Pharmacy offers a traditional 4-year professional program. Students can enter via an undergraduate pathway, earning a BS in Health Sciences and a PharmD in 6 years, or enter the professional program directly with the appropriate prerequisites. Husson University is committed to delivering premier professional programs that emphasize experiential learning, interprofessional education, and student success. In addition to the School of Pharmacy, Husson University also offers healthcare degree programs from the Schools of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Nursing. Together these programs constitute nearly one third of the University's enrollment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Characteristic duties and responsibilities include: teach in pathophysiology and pharmacology courses within the professional pharmacy program; implement teaching and assessment methods to foster student learning; serve as course coordinator and recitation facilitator where appropriate; develop elective courses as appropriate; develop research and scholarship activities consistent with departmental expectations; participate on internal and external school/university committees; advise pharmacy students; participate in student ceremonies that celebrate student milestones.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

An advanced degree (Ph.D., D.Sc.) in pharmacology, neuroscience, or related field is required. Evidence of research and/or scholarly activity is required. Experience as a pharmacy educator is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Physical requirements include: the ability to effectively communicate with students and other faculty; read and interpret; exhibit emotional control and stability; ascend and descend steps and inclines; ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 20 pounds; sit or stand for extended periods of time; bend kneel and reach.
