Rutgers University Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care at New Jersey Medical Schools and Rutgers Brain Health Institute (BHI) seek to recruit outstanding federally funded faculty who will help execute our mission of building a world-class translational neuroscience research program in one of the leading academic medical centers in the United States. An opening will be filled at the rank of Assistant or Associate working in the areas of pain and addiction in the context of aging, cognitive function, metabolic disorders, neurodegeneration and nervous system injury. Our goal is to translate research findings into novel therapeutic approaches. These research topics are also part of the four focus areas at BHI, which is the home for the overall Rutgers neuroscience initiative. BHI is a growing interdisciplinary institute consisting of more than 270 principal investigators with neuroscience laboratories across various campuses of Rutgers University.
Applicants must have a PhD, MD, or equivalent doctoral degree, with demonstrated ability to lead an independent, federally funded research program. We offer substantial resources and outstanding core facilities to support these positions. Candidates applying for a position at the Assistant Professor level are expected to have K99/R00 grants or equivalent and develop a rigorous extramurally funded research program. Candidates at the Associate Professor level are expected to have an established federal grant portfolio that can be transferred to Rutgers.
