Postdoctoral Associate

Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):

Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Neuroscience, or Neuropsychology. Knowledge of advanced statistics and ability to analyze quantitative data. Record of peer-reviewed publications in depression, dementia, trauma, neuroimaging, or related field. Experience working in a clinical research setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with fMRI data analysis. Experience with EPrime, Matlab, SPM, or related software packages. Neuropsychological assessment.

Brief Description of Duties:

The Mood and Cognition in Aging (MACA Lab), directed by Dr. Sara Weisenbach at Stony Brook University is hiring a postdoctoral scholar for a two-year research fellowship, renewable dependent on availability of funds. The fellow will be paid through NIH grant(s) related to depression, dementia, trauma, and Mild Cognitive Impairment. All funded studies involve neuropsychological assessment and functional MRI, in addition to other measures, such as psychophysiology and Ecological Momentary Assessment. The scholar will work closely with other lab members, including faculty, study coordinators, and graduate and undergraduate students. Part-time remote work is feasible for this position, though the fellow will need to be on-site regularly. The successful incumbent must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The postdoctoral associate must have the ability to share responsibilities with other lab members, including other faculty, study coordinators, graduate students, and undergraduate students.

• Data analysis, manuscript preparation, and grant writing.

• Data collection.

• Within the predetermined research scope and methodology, conduct research experiments in the field of Psychiatry.

• Mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.

• Lab administration tasks.

• Other duties as assigned.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
