Postdoctoral Fellow/Research Associate

A postdoctoral fellow/research associate position supported by NIH funding is available at the laboratory of Dr. Marcelo Vargas in the Department of Neurology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Candidate must be highly motivated to carry out research focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration. Candidates interested in astrocytes biology and, especially astrocyte-neuron interaction are encouraged to apply. 

Requirements: A PhD in molecular biology, cell biology, neuroscience, or related biomedical field. Should have peer reviewed scientific publications. This position requires previous experience working with mouse models and/or mammalian cell culture. Experience with AAV work in animal models will be considered a plus. Primary areas of responsibility include bench work, data processing, data analyses, and preparation of scientific writing such as abstracts, posters and papers.
