What We Are Looking For
The Post Baccalaureate Research Assistant assists on a project funded by the National Science Foundation. This project investigates the interplay of sleep, creativity, and STEM learning using polysomnography, actigraphy, and fMRI neuroimaging.
The Post Baccalaureate Research Assistant will join Dr. Scullin’s Sleep Neuroscience and Cognition (SNAC) Laboratory (http://sites.baylor.edu/scullin). You will collaborate with the Baylor Psychometric Laboratory (Dr. Alex Beaujean) and the fMRI neuroimaging core at the VISN 17 Center of Excellence (Dr. Steve Nelson). The selected applicant will be a part of an energetic group of researchers who take a team science approach to investigating the basic mechanisms of cognition, how sleep physiology affects those cognitive mechanisms, and how to restore or compensate for cognitive deficits in advancing age and in Alzheimer’s disease.
A Bachelor’s degree is required. Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal skills, display sound judgment, and be dependable. Experience working in a research laboratory, particularly with sleep or neuroimaging procedures, is preferred but not required.

Travel between the sleep laboratory facilities and the fMRI neuroimaging facilities (10 min drive) is required as are a valid Texas Driver's License.
