Job Details

The Seal laboratory (http://seallab.neurobio.pitt.edu) is looking for postdocs interested in using single cell/nucleus transcriptomics / multiomics to identify cell-type specific regulatory elements for the analysis of neural circuits related to pain and for the development of novel pain therapies.  We use both mouse and macaque as model systems. We also have access to human donor tissue.  Familiarity with ENCODE ATAC-seq and competency in Python or R preferred.  The research will require performing cutting-edge multiomics with additional opportunities in bioinformatics, surgical procedures and construction of novel AAVs.

Our laboratory is in the Department of Neurobiology at the University of Pittsburgh. We are active members of the Pittsburgh Center for Pain Research (https://pcpr.pitt.edu), the University of Pittsburgh Brain Institute (https://www.braininstitute.pitt.edu) and the Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition with Carnegie Mellon University (https://www.cnbc.cmu.edu).

T32 Postdoctoral training grant opportunities are also available for this position.

If interested in this position, please send your CV and a statement of interest to Dr. Rebecca Seal at rpseal@pitt.edu.
