Our Cognitive Neurology and Alzheimer's disease research group is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to work with our world-class investigators in the Division of Cognitive Aging and Dementia. The candidate will be under direct supervision of Dr. Richard Lipton, M.D. and Dr. Ali Ezzati, M.D. and will interact intensively with our multidisciplinary team of expert faculty in Neurology, Epidemiology, and Statistics.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who are interested to peruse a career in neuroscience, data-science, machine learning, or digital health. The candidate will be functioning somewhat independently, and will work with large data from several cohorts and clinical trials; run analytical models on longitudinal data; develop novel predictive models and analytical tools; summarize findings and publish results in research journals; assume general responsibility for scientific operations of the laboratory; provide supervision and guidance to junior technicians, students, and researchers.

This is an immediate position and requires two years commitment. Majority of our research could be conducted remotely, and we will consider applicants for a remote position (USA-based only). We emphasize the development of research skills for all lab members. Areas of content expertise in our research group include clinical Neurology, Aging and Dementia, Alzheimer's disease, Migraine disorder, Headaches and other pain disorders, epidemiology, statistics, machine learning techniques, scientific project management, oral presentations, written communication, scientific publication, and grant writing.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Neuroscience, Computational Biology, Computer science, Statistics, or Mathematics obtained within the last 2 years.
  • Exceptional applicants with Master's degree who meet all the required qualifications will also be considered for this position (with a different title).

Required Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in programming in Python, R or MATLAB (Required).
  • Strong track record of publications as first-author in any of the project's relevant fields (Required).
  • Proficiency in using statistical application such as SPSS, STATA or SAS.
  • Experience with predictive modeling, applied analytics and machine learning.
  • Motivation to translate the developed research into publications.
