Job Details
Postdoctoral training positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Chun-Li Zhang, Department of Molecular Biology, Center for Regenerative Science and Medicine at UT Southwestern. The project is broadly focusing on genetic and epigenetic regulation of plasticity and function of glial cells (astrocytes, NG2 glia, and microglia) under pathological conditions including neural injuries and neurodegeneration. Animal disease models and cultures of glia and neurons will be employed. The project will utilize multi-omics, virus-mediated engineering, lineage tracing, live cell imaging, neural circuit mapping, and animal behaviors.
The Zhang laboratory is well equipped for both in vitro and in vivo studies in molecular, cellular, and behavioral neuroscience. The successful candidate will also benefit from exceptional core facilities and a very collaborative environment. UT Southwestern is the home of 6 Nobel Laureates, 25 members of the National Academy of Sciences, and 17 members of the National Academy of Medicine.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree, with publications in peer-reviewed journals. Information on our postdoctoral training program and benefits can be found in our Postdoc Handbook or at http://www.utsouthwestern.edu/postdocs.
