Research Associate (technical)- Addiction and Parkinson's laboratory

Exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or more experienced researcher to join the Melikian laboratory at UMASS Medical School. The laboratory focuses on the cocaine- and amphetamine-sensitive dopamine transporter, and how transporter regulation impacts dopamine neurotransmission and dopamine-dependent behaviors. Studies further explore how dopamine transporter may be dysregulated in dopamine-related disorders, such as addiction, Parkinson's disease and ADHD. The laboratory leverages cellular, molecular, biochemical, electrophysiological, and behavioral approaches in mouse models to address these important questions. The Research Associate will be responsible for day-to-day lab management, including overseeing the mouse colony and inventory control. The Research Associate will also be directly involved in experimentation, either independently or in collaboration with doctoral or postdoctoral trainees in the laboratory. Successful candidates will meet the following qualifications:

- B.S or M.S. in biological sciences

- Minimum one year research experience

- Excellent organizational skills

- Willingness to work with small rodents (mice)

UMASS Medical  School is located in Worcester, MA, 40 miles west of downtown Boston. The Institution is committed to a diverse environment and welcomes applications from underrepresented groups.
