Position is available for an individual who is interested in studying mechanisms of monoallelic expression of olfactory receptor genes, or the genetic basis of olfactory perception in mice. Researchers with a background or interest in molecular biology/genetics/epigenetics, gene expression analysis, single-cell gene expression profiling, analytical chemistry, or behavior are particularly encouraged to apply.  The position is in the Bozza lab in the Department of Neurobiology, an active and collegial department located on the undergraduate campus of Northwestern University, just north of downtown Chicago.  The lab is part of an active consortium (including investigators at NYU, Brown, Harvard, University of Arizona, Duke, Monell Chemical Senses Center, and Cold Spring Harbor) that is funded to study the genetic and neural basis of odor coding as part of the NIH Brain Initiative.  http://osmonauts.org
