Assistant Professor, Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine

A tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level is available in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine, Penn State College of Medicine. The successful candidate for this position will strengthen and complement ongoing research in the department and will hold a joint appointment in the Department of Pharmacology. The candidate must have an outstanding record of research accomplishments, as documented by publications in leading peer-reviewed journals. The specific area of emphasis includes, but is not limited to, addiction, opioid management, alcohol abuse and neurocognitive dysfunction. The successful applicant will be provided with a generous start-up package including competitive salary, administrative support, start-up funds and laboratory space. The candidate will be expected to establish an externally funded research program, actively collaborate with other basic and clinical investigators in the department, and mentor graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and residents.
