The University of Florida Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience invites applications for a postdoctoral associate who will explore how motivational state alters the behavior of vertebrate animals and the neural pathways responsible for these effects. This research will employ zebrafish as a model organism and techniques including whole-brain calcium imaging, optogenetics, electrophysiology, and behavioral assays. We seek a driven applicant who has obtained a Ph.D. in biology or a related field. Research experience in experimental neuroscience and complex data analysis are highly valued.

The successful candidate will join the Strother Lab, which focuses on questions at the interface between neurobiology and physiology using fishes as model organisms.
