A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Haam in the Department of Biological Sciences at Louisiana State University (http://haamlab.org). Dr. Haam’s laboratory is interested in understanding the neural circuit basis of memory formation using cutting-edge experimental and computational approaches. The research projects will utilize multidisciplinary approaches that combine electrophysiology, optical recordings, rodent behavior, immunostaining, and computational analysis to investigate memory circuits in the entorhinal cortex and their interactions with the hippocampal and neocortical regions. This could be a great opportunity for a researcher who has experience in in vitro recording approaches but has desire to get training on in vivo approaches, such as in vivo electrophysiology, fiber photometry, and miniature endoscopy to answer important questions in the memory consolidation mechanism during sleep.

The candidate should hold a PhD with a solid background in neuroscience, biology, or related disciplines.
