Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Neuropharmacology and Neuroscience

The Department of Drug Discovery and Biomedical Sciences (DDBS) in the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy ( http://www.sc.edu/pharmacy ) in Columbia, SC invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position. DDBS seeks outstanding junior scientists with primary expertise in the field of neuroscience.  Applicants must have a doctorate in a biomedical discipline and postdoctoral training with a published track record of research accomplishments in neuropharmacology and neuroscience. We seek candidates who will develop a robust independent research program with interests relevant to neuroscience research including, but not limited to, molecular and cellular mechanisms and models, and targeted therapeutics. The candidate will be expected to develop an externally funded research program, demonstrate excellence in teaching and trainee mentorship in our professional pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences graduate programs, and contribute to departmental activities. The candidate will join a highly dynamic and collegial academic environment that encourages multidisciplinary collaboration.
