The Cang lab (https://uva.theopenscholar.com/cang-lab) in the Departments of Biology and Psychology at the University of Virginia seeks two (2) Postdoctoral Research Associates to study the function, organization, and development of the mammalian visual system.

These postdoctoral fellows will (1) take a leading role in ongoing studies of cell-type-specific visual processing and development in mice; and/or (2) lead the efforts to establish tree shrews as a model to study circuit mechanisms of visually-guided behaviors. The successful candidates will be self-motivated, capable of working independently and with others, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and have experience in at least one of the following areas: electrophysiology (in vivo or in slices), 2-photon imaging, circuit tracing, genomics, and animal psychophysics.
