Assistant, Associate or Full Project Scientist - Neural Stem Cell Biologist

The laboratory of Dr. Mark Tuszynski in the Department of Neurosciences within the School of Medicine at UC, San Diego (http://neurosciences.ucsd.edu/) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body.

The laboratory conducts research towards developing neural stem cell transplant therapies for spinal cord injury. The position makes innovative and significant contributions pertaining to generation of neural stem cells from embryonic stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cells for treatment of spinal cord injury.

The Project Scientist, under supervision of the PI, designs and conducts experiments, writes and publishes scientific reports, manuscripts and grants.

Candidates must have an MD or PhD with an emphasis relevant to neuroscience and stem cell biology. Candidates must have experience in pluripotent stem cells, neural stem cell biology and neuroscience.

Candidates with a track record of publications are preferred.

Appointment will be at Assistant, Associate or Full Project Scientist level based on background and experience.
