The Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine in the Helmholtz Association (MDC) is a leading international biomedical research center with the goal of elucidating the molecular mechanisms of health and disease in order to create the basis for new therapies and diagnostic procedures. The MDC is a member of the largest scientific organization in Germany - the Helmholtz Association - and offers a stimulating and interactive research environment with the most modern infrastructure. Currently, 1,250 employees and approximately 500 guests work at the locations in Berlin-Buch and Berlin-Mitte. The MDC hosts more than 20 research groups doing innovative work in the neurosciences. MDC researchers profit from state-of-the-art infrastructure including modern “omics”, high-performance computing, and imaging facilities and benefit from a highly collaborative and vibrant scientific environment within the MDC and with its partner institutions in the Berlin region. The MDC also recently opened a state of the art preclinical research centre which provides access to multiple phenotyping platforms. The MDC is committed to translating scientific knowledge into improvements in clinical practice and has expanded its translational research activities as a privileged partner of the Berlin Institute of Health (BIH ) and the Charité university hospital.
We are seeking applications from outstanding postdoctoral researchers (m/f/d) with a Ph.D. in neuroscience.

Job Description

The future group leader will be expected to conduct innovate research addressing fundamental questions in the understanding of neural circuits. Applicants should have earned their doctorate two to six years ago (not including parental leave), and are expected to conduct visionary independent research, obtain extramural funding and engage in collaborative projects with groups at the MDC and Berlin universities.
