Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 1 October 2021 in the first instance.

We are looking for a Research Assistant or Research Associate to support Professors Trevor Robbins and Angela Roberts. The successful candidate will support their research with behavioural testing, in the conduct of neuropsychological experiments, data collection and analysis, as well as in the preparation and histological assessment of tissue samples and other regulated procedures. This is likely to include surgical techniques, systemic injections, microinfusions into the brain, tissue collection and perfusions, and histological processing of brains from experimental animals (non-human primates).

The post is based at purpose-built facilities within the University of Cambridge. Applicants ideally should have already some experience in behavioural neuroscience or related disciplines. You will have a degree (ideally PhD) or equivalent experience in a related science; knowledge of the relevant equipment and procedures; good IT skills; good communication skills with an ability to explain technical issues and procedures. The role-holder is expected to have gained specialist knowledge and skills through a period of practical experience and theoretical training. Please note that funds are available until 1 October 2021 in the first instance, with the possibility of a short extension beyond this date.
