An NIH-funded postdoctoral research position is available in the Golding lab at the Department of Neuroscience at UT-Austin to study the mechanisms of ultrafast temporal coding and dendritic processing in single neurons in the auditory system. Approaches include 2-photon imaging and dendritic recordings in brain slices, transgenic mouse lines, and novel opto- and chemogenetic tools. Successful candidates will have a Ph.D. and background in electrophysiology and/or 2-photon imaging. Quantitative abilities and computer programming/modeling skills are desired. The successful candidate will join a rich, interdisciplinary Neuroscience community at UT-Austin consisting of ~100 laboratories and participate in the Center for Learning and Memory and Center for Perceptual Systems.
