Postdoctoral Position – synapses and circuits of neuropsychiatric disorders

A postdoctoral position is available in Alexey Ostroumov’s lab at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. The Ostroumov lab uses electrophysiology, pharmacology, optogenetics, and behavioral assays in transgenic rats to study the synaptic and neural circuit mechanisms of neuropsychiatric disorders. We are looking for a postdoc to lead a project investigating the role of inhibitory circuit plasticity in addiction and depression.

Highly motivated, well-organized individuals with a background in neuroscience-related fields are encouraged to apply. Experience in electrophysiology, rodent behavior and/or molecular biology techniques are preferred but not required. This is a new lab, which provides the opportunity for hands-on training directly from the PI.

The Ostroumov lab is in the department of Pharmacology and Physiology, a diverse and vibrant scientific community that provides a highly collaborative and supportive environment for postdocs to continue their research training.
