Employer
University of California, Davis
Location
Davis, California
Salary
NIH postdoctoral salary scale + benefits
Closing date
Mar 5, 2021

A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. John Gray in the Center for Neuroscience at the University of California, Davis.

Our laboratory is interested in the regulation of synaptic development and plasticity in the mammalian brain using a combination of molecular, biochemical and electrophysiological approaches. This position, available immediately, will focus on the molecular mechanisms involved in the regulation of synaptic NMDA receptors and how these processes modulate synapse development and plasticity. It is expected that the project will contribute to our understanding of the synaptic basis of neuropsychiatric disorders while focusing on the discovery of fundamental neurobiological principles.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in a neuroscience-related field and have less than three years of postdoctoral experience. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience in at least two of the following techniques: molecular biology, protein biochemistry, immunohistochemistry, or whole-cell electrophysiology.

The fellow will benefit from the outstanding collaborative environment in the Center for Neuroscience at UC Davis. Salary is commensurate with the current NIH scale with benefits.

Interested applicants should e-mail a CV and brief cover letter with contact information for three references to John A. Gray, MD PhD.

UC Davis is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
