Postdoctoral Fellow in Alzheimer’s Disease Research

An NIH-funded postdoctoral position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Masuo Ohno at the Center for Dementia Research, Nathan S. Kline Institute for Psychiatric Research, Orangeburg, New York. We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow who is interested in investigating the mechanisms of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and related cognitive impairments, aiming to develop disease-modifying therapeutic interventions. The project employs multidisciplinary approaches including molecular and biochemical analyses, pathologies, signaling pathways, synaptic function, pharmacology, and behavioral testing of genetically engineered mouse models of AD. The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. degree and a strong background in research using microscopy and protein assay techniques such as western blotting, ELISA and immunohistochemistry. Experience in the neurobiology of neurodegenerative disease, animal models, behavioral assays, and/or electrophysiology is an advantage. The candidate should have an excellent track record of productivity evidenced by high-quality publications and be motivated by his/her desire to better understand AD pathogenesis and bring efficacious therapy to patients.
