The Department of Biological Sciences (https://biology.utdallas.edu/) in the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) invites applications for a tenure-system faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Candidates with strong research and teaching accomplishments in fundamental mechanisms of neurodevelopment, neuroinflammation, neurogenomics, neurodegeneration and other emerging areas of neurobiology are encouraged to apply. We especially encourage applications from candidates using novel experimental and computational approaches to address broad and significant research questions in neurobiology that complement and expand existing departmental and University strengths.

Neurobiology research thrives at UTD – faculty members from Biomedical Engineering, Biological Sciences and Neuroscience are engaged in highly collaborative interdisciplinary studies. The Center of Advanced Pain Studies is one of the major collaboration centers at UTD in which many faculty members across the University come together with diverse research approaches to address chronic pain. A successful candidate will find a highly engaging and collaborative intellectual environment. As a tier-one research intensive university, UTD touts state-of-the-art core research facilities as well as modern research facilities to support the most advanced transdisciplinary research activities (https://research.utdallas.edu/researchers/core-facilities). UTD is dedicated to recruiting and advancing a diverse faculty body that reflects the enormously diverse community of the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex.

Applicants should upload a cover letter; curriculum vitae; statement of research philosophy; statement of teaching philosophy/experience; course evaluations (if available); a writing sample and the full contact information for at least three academic or professional references.

Candidates from underrepresented minority groups are especially encouraged to apply.
