Description
New York University (NYU) is establishing a Pain Center and is seeking applications for two research faculty positions at the Assistant and Associate professor level within the tenure track. The faculty will be appointed in the Department of Molecular Pathobiology in the NYU College of Dentistry (https://dental.nyu.edu/faculty/molecular-pathobiology.html). The College is located on 1st Avenue in Manhattan within a medical complex that includes the College of Dentistry, School of Medicine, affiliated hospitals and several vibrant research institutes.  

The NYU Pain Center will comprise collaborative multidisciplinary NIH-funded faculty who perform basic and clinical pain research. Existing research strengths at NYU include intracellular signaling, visceral pain, peripheral nociceptive mechanisms, cancer pain, genomics, analgesic development, and clinical research.

Qualifications
Candidates must possess a PhD, DDS, MD degree or a combination thereof, be a distinguished basic or clinical researcher with a strong record of research training, creativity and productivity in the field of pain. The applicant will lead a research program in the NYU Pain Center that complements current research. Faculty have the opportunity, and are encouraged, to collaborate with investigators in the NYU College of Dentistry, NYU Langone Medical Center, NYU Tandon School of Engineering, and the NYU College of Arts & Sciences.
